16,000 Afghans will receive food aid from Turkey

Turkey provides 33 tonnes of food aid to crisis-stricken Afghanistan Which will meet the food needs of 16,000 Afghans a month.

On Monday, Turkey’s Red Crescent handed over the aid to those in a ceremony in Kabul.

According to the news, these foods will meet the demand of 16 thousand people for one month.

Jihad Ergin, Turkey’s ambassador to Kabul, said more aid would be provided in the coming months.

While handing over food aid, Ergine called on the international community to conduct humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan.

‘Turkey’s Red Crescent and other agencies will continue to help the people of Afghanistan. This is our humanitarian responsibility, “added the Turkish ambassador.

Sefatullah Quraishi, head of the Afghan Red Crescent, thanked Turkey for its assistance.

Since the Taliban took control of Kabul on August 15, the country has lost contact with the rest of the world. Since then, the country’s internally displaced and low-income people have been living in acute food crises.
