SNYMAN SMASHES 74 ON SYDNEY UNI DEBUT
Debuting in the fourth grade for Sydney Uni Cricket club, Henry Snyman scored a game high 74 runs en route to a victory against UTS North Sydney at the weekend.
The new recruit has just joined the club after leaving Scots College High School.
Club manager Colin Robertson started him in the lower ranks, but doesn’t see him staying there for long.
“He is brand new from The Scots College, and will move up through the ranks very quickly,” he said.
MID-SEASON STANDOUTS WITH THE BAT
New signing Dylan Hunter has proven a critical acquisition for Sydney University in first grade so far this season.
Helping his side into second place on the ladder, Hunter has scored five 50s and one century so far. He has also scored himself selection in the ACT side for Cricket Australia’s Toyota Second XI competition.
Uni’s club general manager Colin Robertson has touted Hunter as the player to watch across the entire top grade this year.
“He is a standout, he’s up there as one of our best batting all-rounder’s,” Robertson said.
His performance of the season came against Fairfield which saw him hit a ferocious 120 from 60 balls.
Another standout, Hayden Kerr, who has been a staple for Uni continues to climb the club’s all-time first grade runscorer board. He has passed Keith Sheffield to move to the 21st highest runs on 2919. He took the spot after scoring 50 from only 17 balls, which is the fastest half-century recorded for the club in the T20 competition.
The top run scorer across all grades so far this year is Gordon District Cricket Club’s Axel Cahlin who has scored 663 runs across all formats, including two centuries and three 50s.
UTS North Sydney’s Jimmy Greenslade is also having a sensational season with the bat, topping the number of centuries for any player so far, with three.
