Sun News Desk: Post and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar said that 65 lakh 78 thousand 866 SIM subscribers of four mobile companies went out of Dhaka on Friday and Saturday.

He gave this information in a Facebook post on Sunday (July 10) night. Among them there are 34 lakh 48 thousand 12 users of Grameenphone, 15 lakh 45 thousand 109 people of Robi, 14 lakh 17 thousand 114 people of Banglalink and 1 lakh 68 thousand 631 users of Teletalk.
Earlier in another Facebook post on Saturday, he gave the information that 35 lakh 30 thousand 732 SIM subscribers went out of Dhaka only on Friday. And 3 million 48 thousand 134 mobile SIM owners left Dhaka on Saturday.

The statistics given by the minister show evidence of a large number of people leaving Dhaka, but this is not the ‘real number’ of people returning home for Eid.
According to the World Population Review, the population of Dhaka is now around 200 million. Out of this, more than one crore people are believed to go to some other district during Eid.
