Sports Desk: Bangladesh women’s football team tasted their first title after defeating Nepal 3-1 at their home ground Dashrath Stadium.

Bangladesh national football team lost 3-1 against hosts Nepal in the same stadium within a week.

Bangladesh finished the first half of the friendly match 3-0 behind. A goal in the second half narrowed the margin of the red-green team.

Bangladesh was also fighting evenly against Nepal at the beginning of the game. In the 16th minute, Jamal’s best chance to go ahead was wasted when Jamal’s free kick hit the crossbar. After that, they started to fall out of the match little by little.

Nepal went ahead after two minutes. Anjan Bista headed Bimal Gharti Magar’s free kick from the right side.

Desperate to get back to parity, Bangladesh got a chance in the 26th minute. But captain and goalkeeper Kiran Kumar Limbu blocked Rakib Hossain’s low angle shot.

The next minute goal put Nepal in the driver’s seat. Goalkeeper Anisur Rahman Ziko saved the first attempt of the hosts, but he could not stop Anjan’s return shot.
