# Hobart: Bangladesh came to the T20 World Cup with the shock of losing four matches in a row. The Bengal Tigers started their campaign against the Netherlands on Monday. Shakib Al Hasan’s team could not score much against relatively weak Netherlands. Batting first against the Dutch, Bangladesh scored 144 runs losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.

Netherlands won the toss and decided to bowl. Bangladesh openers Soumya Sarkar and Nazimul Hossain started the innings well after losing the toss and batting. The opposing pair started scoring runs at a fast pace. After making a partnership of 43 runs, Bangladesh’s opening pair broke. After that, Bangladesh lost consecutive wickets at regular intervals and fell under pressure.

Skipper Shaki Al Hasan, Liton Das, Somya Sarkar failed to score big runs. If Afif Hossain, Nazimul Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain did not fight a little, Bengal Tigers would have faced more problems. Afif Hossain played the highest innings of 38 runs for the team. Besides, Nazimul scored 25 runs and Mosaddek Hossain scored 20 runs. Besides, no Bangladeshi batsman could cross the 20-run mark.

Netherlands’ bowling lineup bowled with control from the start. Paul van Meeken and Vyas de Lied took maximum two wickets for the team. Fred Klassen, Tim Pringle, Shariz Ahmed and Logan van Beek took one wicket each. Netherlands target 145 runs to win.
