Sun News Desk: The 390th branch of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited has been inaugurated at Sorail in Brahmanbaria. On Wednesday (November 2), the bank’s managing director and CEO Muhammad Munirul Mawla inaugurated the branch as the chief guest.

Additional Managing Director Md. Omar Farooq Khan, Sarail Upazila Executive Officer Md. Ariful Haque Mridul and Sarail Upazila Vice Chairman Md. Abu Hanif were present as special guests on the occasion and welcome speech was given by senior executive vice president of the bank Md. Maksudur Rahman. Comilla Zone Head Shahidullah Majumder presided over the ceremony and Sarail Branch Head Md Daulat Khan expressed thanks.
Sarail Union Parishad Chairman Abdul Jabbar, businessman Md. Babul Mia, Thakur Dhan Biswas and teacher Moshammat Shamchun Nahar Sultana Haque spoke on behalf of customers and well-wishers. Bank executives, customers, well-wishers and dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Muhammad Munirul Mawla said in the speech of the chief guest that Islami Bank is one of the role models for the present time. Islami Bank has investments in the world’s largest denim, hometex and sugar refineries. About 85 lakh people have been employed through this. Islami Bank is making an important contribution in poverty alleviation by formulating rural development programs in the remote areas of the country.
He said that Islami Bank is in the first position in the country in deposits, investment, import-export and remittance. Islami Bank’s Selfin has set one of the precedents in implementing the desired modern banking system in this era of information technology excellence. He said that Islami Bank will play an important role in the economic development of the region by establishing more industrial establishments in Brahmanbaria, providing better remittance services and investing in the improvement of living standards.
