International Desk: Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin plan to attend the G20 summit in Bali in November this year. Indonesian President Joko Widodo, the current chairman of the G20 alliance, gave this information.

He said, ‘President Xi Jinping will come. President Putin also told me that he will come. The current chairman of the alliance confirmed for the first time that the two leaders will attend the conference of the world’s top 20 economies.

According to the report, if Widodo’s claim is true, then this will be the direct meeting between Putin and Xi Jinping with the US president after the war in Ukraine. Because US President Biden is also scheduled to go there.

This is the first meeting of the alliance amid tensions over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February and the recent visit of US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan.

China closed its borders at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Xi Jinping will also visit Indonesia outside of China for the first time since the border was closed in January 2020. Since then, Xi Jinping left the mainland on July 1 to mark the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China.

This year’s G20 summit in November is going to be much awaited. Because US President Joe Biden is also expected to attend this conference. However, it is not yet clear whether the US President will meet Vladimir Putin.

However, some media reports have indicated that there is a possibility of a face-to-face meeting between Biden and Xi Jinping before or on the sidelines of the summit.
