BCCI president Sourav Gangopadhyay and secretary Jai Shah got relief after the Supreme Court verdict. The Sourav Ganguly Jai Shah duo has no problem staying in the Indian Cricket Board’s draft for another few years i.e. till 2025. But for the past few days, it has been heard that Sourav Ganguly will not contest for the post of BCCI president.

The new name came out of this speculation. If all goes well, a World Cup winner will succeed Sourav Ganguly as the BCCI president, according to an all-India news media. Roger Binny, an important member of the Indian team that won the One Day Cricket World Cup in 1983, is coming up. As a result, speculations about Sourav Gangopadhyay’s future in cricket administration also increased.

Indian Cricket Board Elections on 18 October. According to BCCI sources, Saurabh Gangopadhyay will not contest for the post of BCCI president for the second time. Jai Shah will fight for the post of secretary and not president. State bodies have already started sending names to participate in the annual meeting of the board. Roger Binny is about to come on board from the Karnataka Cricket Association. The Karnataka Cricket Association is going to recommend his name to replace Santosh Menon.

Incidentally, even though Sourav got relief after the Supreme Court verdict, it is believed that Sourav Gangopadhyay may fight for the post of ICC Chairman, not BCCI. Because that position is also vacant. However, there has been no official announcement regarding Sourav’s candidacy for the post of ICC chairman. Everyone has to wait for a few more days to know whether Sourav Ganguly fights in the ICC elections, whether Roger Binny comes to the BCCI committee.
